How they differ

CoverManager is a booking and floor management tool widely used in restaurants with a high average bill, with a monthly fee per venue that it does not publish on its website. Menuveo is the alternative for the neighbourhood bar and restaurant: commission-free bookings with a button on Google, plus your Google Maps listing, menu and daily set menu, from €59.99/month + VAT with no lock-in.

What CoverManager does well

CoverManager’s floor management is very thorough: a floor plan with smart table assignment, an automatic waiting list, no-show risk scoring, card holds, and integration with POS tills (TPV, as they are known in Spain) and payment providers, according to its website. For a restaurant with two full sittings and deposits per table it is a serious tool. Its Performance plan adds multi-venue management, API integrations and marketing automation for groups.

What each one costs, with an example

A 40-cover bar with 20 bookings a day needs the Google button to work and nobody to be left without a table. CoverManager does not publish its prices, so put in the table the fee from the proposal they give you after the demo.

Add to that fee the add-ons you activate, such as the website or the WhatsApp assistant, and whatever you pay separately for working on Google Maps, the menu and the daily menu. Menuveo connects listing, menu, daily menu, bookings, website and customer relationships in one fee: the Ultra plan costs €99.99/month + VAT with all of that included.

What you pay for separately with each one

CoverManager separates the plan from the add-ons, which are switched on and paused individually. According to its website, these are the AI voice assistant for the phone, the AI assistant on WhatsApp, takeaway, the website and payment at the table.

Its plan table also shows a commission on prepayment and on gift card sales, lower the higher the plan. It does not publish the percentage, so ask for it before you activate deposits.

With Menuveo, the Google listing, the menu, the daily menu, the website and reviews all come in the same fee. What we do not have by default is taking deposits by card; if your restaurant needs that, tell us before you sign up.

When switching makes sense

If you are on CoverManager and recognise yourself in several of these statements, switching usually pays off.

  • You only use the booking diary and the Google button.
  • You have never taken a deposit or used the waiting list.
  • Nobody looks after your Google Maps listing, or you do it yourself now and then.
  • The menu is a PDF and the daily menu is on a chalkboard.
  • You have a single venue and one busy lunchtime sitting.

What to ask in the demo

As the price comes from a proposal, go to the demo with these questions and ask for the answers in writing. With them you can fill in the table above and compare using your own numbers.

  • What monthly fee your venue would have on Standard and on Premium.
  • Which add-ons you would need for what you do today and how much each one costs.
  • What commission applies to prepayment and gift cards on your plan.
  • Whether the booking button on your Google listing connects to CoverManager, and from which plan.
  • How you export your customers if you change tools one day.

How the migration works

You send us the export of customers and future bookings and we load it into your Menuveo diary with the same time slots. That same day we change the booking button on your Google listing.

You can keep both tools active for a week or two while you check that nothing gets lost. Before you cancel, check the renewal date and the notice period in your contract.

CoverManager says on its website that your customers’ data is yours and that you can export it whenever you like. Ask for that export before closing the account and keep it even if it is already loaded into Menuveo.

Who each one is for

If you run a bar or a neighbourhood restaurant, Menuveo covers more parts of the problem for a public fee of €99.99/month + VAT: people find you on Google, see the menu and book direct. If your dining room is high-end, with deposits and a waiting list, CoverManager goes deeper on bookings.

CoverManager does not document work on Google Maps, the daily menu or a digital menu. Menuveo has no floor plan with table turn times and no card deposits by default. Choose by the gap that costs you the most money each week.

For a neighbourhood restaurant, Menuveo covers most of what it needs from a booking system: sittings, capacity per time slot, the button on Google, reminders and notes per table. If you take bookings weeks ahead and run a waiting list, stay with CoverManager and add Menuveo for Google Maps and the menu.

Menuveo

Neighbourhood bars and restaurants that need visibility on Google and simple day-to-day running: menu, daily menu, bookings and reviews in one place. If your dining room is 12 tables and one lunchtime sitting, you need people to find you more than you need a floor plan with table turn times.

CoverManager

Fine-dining or high-volume restaurants that need fine control of the floor, deposits and table turnover, and have already sorted out their visibility. Groups with several venues that want a central dashboard and integrations with their POS.
