Christmas transforms Barcelona into a city full of light, tradition and magical corners. The Christmas markets, scattered throughout notable neighborhoods of the city, offer us local crafts and a festive atmosphere that invites us to get out of the streets and enjoy Christmas in a special and different way.
Here I tell you what they are and what you can find in them.
This market is very famous in the city of Barcelona because of its location. Having the Sagrada Familia basilica next to it gives it a different and special touch. It is smaller than other types of markets, but because they wanted to make it more neighborhood and neighborhood, but it is true that many more people from other parts of the city and foreigners go.
There are different stalls of Christmas decorations and ornaments, crafts, cribs, lights and also food stuffs as now typical winter sweets such as polvorones, churros with chocolate and even chestnuts.
This market is open from November 28 to December 23 from 10:00 am to 21:00 pm and some holidays can be extended until 22:00 pm.

It is the Christmas market by the sea in the port of Barcelona and like the Christmas fair of the Sagrada Familia, contains craft stalls, food and Christmas decorations and apart from that there are also areas of attractions.
The atmosphere is very Christmassy thanks to the decoration with lights and the festive atmosphere that this market/fair has. It is for all audiences thanks to the different activities that there are both with the booths, the rides that can be done and the attractions for both young children and adults.
It is open from December 5, 2025 to January 6, 2026.

It is the most traditional and oldest Christmas market in Barcelona and is located in the square in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona.
As in the vast majority of Christmas markets, you can find Christmas decorations , trees, figures for the nativity scene, candles, crafts and even toys. There are also stalls offering food such as chestnuts, sweets, hot drinks such as chocolate, which also makes the Christmas atmosphere more noticeable.
It is very special thanks to the tradition of the festival that is celebrated, for its location, as it is in the old part of Barcelona and also for offering all kinds of things that remind us of Christmas.
It is from November 28 to December 23.

This market is located on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes avenue.
Traditionally, it has been seen as a place where you can buy gifts, toys, decoration, also traditional sweets and as in almost all Christmas markets you can find stalls of churros with hot chocolate.
It is from December 4, 2025 until January 6, 2026 from 11:00 to 14:00 and in the afternoon from 17:00 to 21:00.

This market is held in the old town of Barcelona (Gothic Quarter), exactly in 'la Plaça del Pi'.
This type of market is not exactly the typical Christmas market, it is more artisan and food style with cheeses, honey, local products, chocolates... and sold by the small artisans themselves.
It is true that it is during all months of the year on the first and third weekend of the month, but at Christmas it has a very different atmosphere and style thanks to the fact that the square and the surrounding streets are with Christmas lights and decorations.
It is also known for the churro shop on the next street, Granja Dulcinea, which is more than 80 years old and makes it a tradition for local people to go first to buy some local products from this market and then go to eat some good churros with chocolate.
